Monesia Brown has served as director of public affairs and government relations for Walmart Inc. in Tallahassee, Florida, since 2013. Prior to her current role, Ms. Brown served as an attorney and policy and government consultant focusing on economic development, state procurement, and education. She worked for the state of Florida in several capacities, including general counsel to the Department of Management Services and director of legislative affairs and chief cabinet aide to the attorney general. She was also the director for the Agency for Workforce Innovation, Florida's labor agency.
She is a member of the board of directors of the Jacksonville Branch of the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta, the Florida State Board of Education, Boys Town North Florida, Leadership Florida, Big Bend Minority Chamber of Commerce, and Friends of the Museums of Florida History. She also serves as chair of the Florida Juvenile Justice Foundation and is a member of the Florida Chamber Foundation, Leadership Florida's Cornerstone Class, and the Tallahassee Airport Advisory Committee.
She earned a BA from Illinois State University and a JD from the University of Wisconsin Law School.
