Daniel Lavender has served as chief executive officer of Moorings Park Institute Inc. in Naples, Florida, since 2009. Moorings Park originated with the members of Moorings Presbyterian Church in 1977 as a nonprofit Florida corporation. Today, Moorings Park is one of the only Life Plan communities with an A+ or A rating by Fitch and S&P. Moorings Park has 900 employees across three properties. As a member of the Naples community, Moorings Park also supports dozens of community health initiatives by distributing grants to local nonprofit and public health agencies.
Prior to his current role, Mr. Lavender served as chief financial officer for Moorings Park Institute. In 1990, Mr. Lavender began his career in retirement services as an accounting manager of CCRC (continuing care retirement communities) and home health with Ohio Presbyterian Retirement Services. He also served as the chief financial officer of Methodist Eldercare in Ohio.
Mr. Lavender is a member of the boards of directors of the Miami Branch of the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta and the Naples Zoo, where he also serves as treasurer. He also currently serves as chair of Novare, a national consortium of senior living providers. Mr. Lavender was the former chair of the Greater Naples Chamber of Commerce and a former member of the Champions for Learning Leadership Council.
He received his BA in accounting and economics and certified public accounting from Bluffton College and his MBA from Ohio University.
