N. Maria Menendez has served as chief financial officer of GL Homes of Florida Holding Corporation since 2002. She is also the chief financial officer of GL Commercial Holdings Corporation, which owns and operates 12 commercial centers throughout South Florida. GL Homes and subsidiaries is the nation's 30th-largest builder based on revenue and the nation's 10th-largest private homebuilder. GL Homes has sales and land holdings in Broward, Palm Beach, St. Lucie, Indian River, Collier, Lee, Hillsborough, and Pasco counties. More than 90,000 people live in GL Homes throughout Florida.
Ms. Menendez previously served as chief marketing officer of ANC Rental Corporation and vice president of marketing at Alamo Rent a Car. Ms. Menendez began her career at KPMG serving as senior manager, auditor, and management consultant.
Ms. Menendez is a member of the board of directors of the Miami Branch of the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta. She also serves on the board of Habitat for Humanity of Broward. She is a former member of the Pine Crest School board of trustees, serving from 1999 to 2005. Ms. Menendez was recognized by Builder Magazine as one of "Home Building's Most Powerful Women in 2013," and by Travel Agent magazine as one of the "Most Powerful Women in Travel" in 1999.
She received her BBA degree in international business in 1983 from Florida Atlantic University, where she also earned a BS in accounting in 1982. She was a certified CPA in Florida from 1984 to 1995.
