At the November meeting of the G10 government finance honchos, European Central Bank president Jean-Claude Trichet had this to say:

...the [euro's] rally [against the dollar] was not "welcome.''

Trichet now (as reported by Bloomberg):

"Imbalances as regards external positions'' remain a risk to the global economy, said European Central Bank President Jean- Claude Trichet, who headed a meeting of the G-10 central bankers in Basel. A statement by Snow that he intends to support a strong dollar was "very important,'' Trichet added.

Last time, of course, the final communique made no mention of specific concern about the dollar, despite the fact that it was on the minds of many.  We'll see if that history repeats itself.
