Registration is now open for the sixth biennial Reinventing Older Communities conference, sponsored by the Philadelphia Fed. The conference will take place May 12–14, 2014, at the Loews Philadelphia Hotel.

Reinventing Older Communities: Bridging Growth and Opportunity will explore how communities can grow and strengthen their economies by creating opportunities for all residents. Community developers, advocates, and planners, government leaders, bankers, researchers, foundation representatives, business leaders, and students are encouraged to attend.

Speakers will include Raj Chetty, William Henry Bloomberg Professor of Economics, Harvard University; Angela Glover Blackwell, founder and CEO of PolicyLink; Mark Zandi, chief economist, Moody's Analytics; and others. Topics will include:

  • How entrepreneurs are reinventing cities
  • Changing demographics and their impact on urban renewal
  • Innovations in funding and financing
  • Connecting hard-to-serve populations and jobs
  • What students need to succeed.
