Do you know of an underserved community that needs planning assistance? Local government agencies, nonprofits, neighborhood associations, and other advocacy groups are encouraged to apply for free assistance from the American Planning Association (APA). Its Community Planning Assistance Team initiative pairs a multidisciplinary team of planning professionals with local communities to address planning needs and help develop community engagement strategies. The initiative is unique in that it leverages the skills and experience of four or five expert volunteer planners. A project generally lasts nine months. Applications can be found online
and can be mailed or e-mailed to the APA. The next application deadline is December 4.
