The headline personal consumption expenditure (PCE) price index rose 0.8 percent year over year in July, down from 0.9 percent in June. The core PCE price index, which excludes food and energy, increased 1.6 percent year over year in July, unchanged from the prior four months. On a one-month annualized rate basis, the headline PCE price index was flat in July, down from a 1.3 percent increase in June, and the core PCE price index (one-month annualized rate) increased 1.1 percent in July, up from 0.9 percent in June.
