Real personal consumption expenditures (PCE) fell 0.2 percent in September following a strong month-over-month increase in August. Durable goods decreased 1.9 percent mostly as a result of a decline in motor vehicle sales in September. Nondurable goods also fell 0.3 percent. Real year-over-year PCE growth was 2.1 percent.
