The headline personal consumption expenditure (PCE) price index rose 1.4 percent year over year in October, unchanged from its September pace. Core PCE price inflation, which excludes food and energy, rose 1.6 percent year over year in October, a one-tenth of a percent increase from September. PCE headline inflation rose at a 0.7 percent one-month annualized rate in October, down from 1.0 percent, and the annualized core figure rose 2.2 percent, up from 1.5 percent in September. Recent PCE price index data suggest inflationary pressures remain at bay.
