The U.S. unemployment rate was 5.8 percent, unchanged from the prior month and remaining at its lowest level since mid-2008. Since the beginning of the year, the unemployment rate has declined by 0.8 percentage point. The labor force participation rate held at 62.8 percent in November, essentially unchanged since April of this year.
