The National Association of Realtors reported that existing home sales declined 0.6 percent from February to March. The U.S. Census Bureau and the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development reported that new single-family home sales improved slightly on a monthly basis, up 1.5 percent in February. Both series remained ahead of the year-earlier level.
