The United States as a whole added 88,000 payrolls in March, so the Sixth District's contribution of 45,500 jobs was significant for the month.

Within the Sixth District, Florida's rate of job creation in March was a significant outlier, with 32,700 new payrolls in that state alone last month. Georgia took a distant second place in job creation last month, adding 13,600 jobs. Tennessee was the only Sixth District state to shed payrolls last month.
