Sixth District states added 32,400 payroll jobs in April, after adding 36,900 payroll jobs in March.
All Sixth District states added payroll jobs in April. As in several of the recent previous months, Florida led the way in terms of payroll job growth within the district, adding 17,000 jobs. Tennessee tacked on 4,500 payroll jobs while Georgia added 4,300. Alabama (+3,200), Mississippi (+2,700), and Louisiana (+700) made smaller contributions over the month.
