The National Association of Realtors reported that existing home sales improved from April to May, up 5 percent. The U.S. Census Bureau and the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development reported that new single-family home sales improved as well on a monthly basis, up 2.1 percent. Both series remained ahead of the year-earlier level.
