Headline CPI rose at a 1.9 percent one-month annualized pace in July. The 12-month measure accelerated to 2.0 percent after coming in as low as 1.1 percent in April. Core CPI (excluding food and energy) increased 1.7 percent over the last 12 months, up slightly from the June measure of 1.6 percent.
