November's total retail sales increased 0.7 percent following October's 0.6 percent increase, which was revised up from 0.4 percent. Core retail sales (excluding autos, gas, and building materials) advanced for the second consecutive month, up 0.6 percent. Seasonally adjusted nonstore retail sales rose 2.2 percent in November, marking the biggest one-month gain since July 2012. Year-over-year core sales were the strongest they have been since January.
