The headline personal consumption expenditure (PCE) price index was up 1.1 percent year over year in December. For the same period, core PCE price inflation, which excludes food and energy, was up 1.2 percent. The trimmed-mean inflation rate, an alternative measure of core inflation, rose at 1.4 percent.
