Crude oil prices averaged $18.15 per MMBtu in February, a 6.5 percent increase from January's level. Meanwhile, natural gas prices averaged $6.01 per MMBtu, up 79.9 percent from year-ago prices. Continued cold weather across much of the country affected both the demand and supply of natural gas, contributing to price increases.
