Real personal consumption rose 0.3 percent in January from December, with services driving the increase. Services, which includes utilities, increased 0.8 percent in January, the highest month-over-month increase since June 1998. Year-over-year real personal consumption expenditure (PCE) growth continued its upward movement and is at its highest rate since July 2011.
