Nonfarm payrolls grew by 175,000 in February. Gains for previous months were revised up by a cumulative 25,000: December's figure was revised from 75,000 to 84,000 and January's figure from 113,000 to 129,000. Job growth has averaged 189,000 during the past 12 months. Analysts suggest payroll gains would have been stronger were it not for severe weather in February.
