The monthly average of the nominal trade-weighted exchange value of the dollar declined slightly in April compared with March. The dollar depreciated against the trade-weighted group of key emerging market currencies, the Canadian dollar and the British pound. The dollar was virtually unchanged against the euro and the yen. Compared with April 2013, the dollar was up 2.3 percent last month on a trade-weighted basis.
