Existing single-family home sales increased 0.5 percent from March to April. Sales were down 7.7 percent from the year-earlier level, which marked the sixth consecutive month of year-over-year declines. The months' supply of available existing homes for sale edged up in April to 5.9 months from 5.0 months in March.
