Light vehicle sales increased to a postrecession high of 16.9 million units (seasonally adjusted annualized rate) in June, up from 16.7 million units in May. This pace was the highest since July 2006. Domestic light vehicle sales increased 1.0 percent from May to June, and sales of imported vehicles increased 2.3 percent during the same period.
