Speaker Biographies

Tony Curtis is a senior examiner in the consumer compliance area in the Supervision and Regulation division at the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta. He is a case manager with supervisory responsibility of a portfolio with some of the larger, more complex community banks in the Sixth District. Curtis joined the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta in 2007 after starting his career at the Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond in 1999. He has supervised some of the bank's most complex cases including unfair or deceptive acts or practices, flood, and fair lending. Curtis is a native of Richmond, Virginia, and is a graduate of Virginia Commonwealth University with a bachelor's degree of business administration with an economics minor. He is a Certified Regulatory Compliance Manager.

Tony DaSilva is a supervision and regulation subject matter expert and has been with the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta since 2003. He is a member of the community and regional bank organizations group focusing on back office operations, information technology, and payment processing functions. Prior to joining the Federal Reserve Bank, DaSilva had 21 years of commercial banking experience. He began his banking career at the Citizens & Southern Bank of Georgia (now Bank of America), where he spent 18 years in various operations management positions. Prior to joining the Atlanta Fed, he was the vice president of marketing and product management for Prudential Bank. He has held management and senior management positions in deposit operations, items processing, credit card, merchant credit card, automated clearinghouse, loan processing, branch support, and remittance processing operations. He is an instructor for domestic and international banking courses, a faculty member of The Payments Institute, and a regular speaker at national and regional conferences. DaSilva received his bachelor's degree from the University of North Georgia and his master's degree in management from the University of Alabama in Huntsville. He is an accredited ACH professional and a certified information systems auditor.

Brittany Farner is a portfolio senior examiner in the consumer compliance area in the Supervision and Regulation division at the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta. She has supervisory responsibility for a portfolio of state member community banks and nonstate member bank holding companies in the Sixth District. Farner joined the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta in 2008 as an associate examiner specializing in consumer compliance and Community Reinvestment Act examinations. She is an instructor at the Federal Reserve System fair lending examination school and provides internal training for new examiners-in-charge. Her other areas of expertise include the flood provisions of Regulation H, compliance and risk management, and community bank risk-focused examination procedures. Farner is a native of Raleigh, North Carolina, and is a graduate of Wake Forest University with a bachelor of science degree in finance.

Lauren Foley is a financial specialist in the Supervision and Regulation division of the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta. She is responsible for examining commercial real estate risk in markets across the United States and developing tools to enhance bank examiners' scoping analyses. Additionally, she is a data manager for real estate information and works on building analytics for banking and risk projects. She also speaks at numerous industry events around the country each year to gain insight from market participants and share views of the market. Prior to her current role at the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta, Foley worked in consumer compliance, where her primary responsibilities included developing redlining and demographic reports, interviewing local nonprofit executives, and developing performance context for Community Reinvestment Act bank examinations. Before joining the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta, Foley worked for Integra Realty Resources as a research assistant on commercial appraisals. She holds a bachelor's degree in economics and a minor in statistics from the Georgia Institute of Technology and a master's degree in economics from the Georgia Institute of Technology.

Carolyn Healy is an assistant vice president at the Miami Branch of the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta. She oversees the supervision and examination of a portfolio of community banks and bank/savings and loan holding companies. Healy joined the Supervision and Regulation division as a community bank examiner in June 1985. In 1993, she moved to the international group, where she held positions of increasing responsibility. In 1996, she was promoted to assistant vice president and focused on supervising the activities of foreign banking organizations from Latin America and the Caribbean. Her responsibilities also included the international support and Miami administration units. In March 2002, she assumed additional responsibility for the examination and supervision activities for banks from Asia, Canada, the Middle East, and Europe with offices in the Southeast. In April 2010, she assumed additional responsibility for a portfolio of community banks and in April 2012 assumed her current position. She holds a bachelor's degree in finance and economics from Simmons College in Boston, Massachusetts, and has completed various courses administered by the American Institute of Banking, Robert Morris Associates, the Federal Reserve Board, and the Federal Financial Institutions Examination Council. She has also completed the executive development program at the J.L. Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern University.

Suzanne Killian is the senior associate director of the Consumer Compliance Supervision Branch of the Federal Reserve Board's Division of Consumer and Community Affairs. As the Board's chief compliance officer, Killian leads and directs the policy, enforcement, applications, examiner staff development, risk and surveillance, supervision administration, and Reserve Bank oversight functions of the division. In addition, she leads the division's participation in key supervisory initiatives, including strategic interagency and Federal Reserve System projects. Prior to joining the Board in 1993, Killian spent eleven years in the banking industry designing and building audit departments and corporate compliance programs. She earned a degree in accounting from Bloomsburg University and an advanced certificate from the Graduate School of Auditing at the University of Wisconsin. Additionally, Killian holds an advanced certificate from the Graduate School of Compliance Management at the University of Oklahoma and an executive management diploma/leadership certificate from the Stonier Graduate School of Banking and Georgetown University.

Lara Lylozian is assistant chief accountant of the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System. Lylozian joined the Federal Reserve in January 2015 as a Professional Accounting Fellow from PricewaterhouseCoopers. She has 15 years of professional experience leading a variety of financial accounting and reporting projects in the financial services sector, including three years in London. She holds a bachelor's degree in commerce from the University of Virginia and is a Certified Public Accountant licensed in Virginia.

Juan C. Sanchez is a vice president in the Supervision and Regulation division of the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta, where he is responsible for the consumer compliance, bank secrecy, wealth management, and international bank programs. He also oversees the credit and risk management department, banking applications, and enforcement unit. Previously, he served as vice president and community affairs officer with responsibility for promoting job creation and housing opportunities for low- and moderate-income communities. He also led the Bank's commercial and neighborhood revitalization initiatives and advised lenders on compliance with the Community Reinvestment Act, fair lending practices and procedures, and bank safety and soundness. Sanchez has extensive banking and regulatory experience, including working for the Supervision and Regulation department of the Atlanta Fed's Miami Branch from 1998 to 1999. He has also served as vice president and community development manager for Barnett Bank and as senior vice president and director of compliance and community development for BankUnited. He rejoined the Atlanta Fed in 2002 as assistant vice president and community affairs officer and was promoted to vice president in 2008. He assumed his current position as senior officer in Supervision and Regulation in 2010. Outside of the Fed, Sanchez is active in the community. He currently serves as president of Pebble Tossers Inc., a nonprofit organization focused on youth leadership through active volunteer participation. Sanchez earned a bachelor's degree in economics from Florida State University and a master's degree in business administration from the University of South Florida. He has also completed various leadership and executive programs including Leadership Miami, Leadership Atlanta, and the Wharton School's executive development program at the University of Pennsylvania.

Mitika Sethi is an examiner in the consumer compliance area of the Supervision and Regulation division at the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta. She joined the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta in March 2015. Currently, Sethi serves as a fair lending specialist for the Sixth District, where her work focuses on assessing regional and large banks' compliance with fair lending and the Fair Housing Act. In addition to this role, Sethi has worked on examinations for large banks and community banks assessing compliance with consumer laws and regulations. Prior to joining the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta, Sethi spent more than a decade working in various compliance roles in the mortgage industry. She is a graduate of the University of Georgia with a bachelor's degree in international affairs and economics.

Jacob Stewart is a commissioned examiner in the consumer compliance area in the Supervision and Regulation division at the Atlanta Fed. Stewart joined the Atlanta Fed in 2011 as an associate examiner. He is an instructor at the Federal Reserve System Real Estate Lending examination school and provides internal training to compliance staff. Stewart also participates on a Federal Reserve System mortgage implementation team. He is a native of Georgia and is a graduate of Valdosta State University with a bachelor's degree in business administration.

Trey Wheeler is an assistant vice president in the Supervision and Regulation division of the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta, where he leads the community bank supervision group. Prior to assuming his current responsibilities, Wheeler was director of the credit risk team, where he provided technical and managerial support in assessing credit risk across supervision and regulation business lines. He joined the Atlanta Fed in 1996 as an examiner in the community bank supervision group. He also worked with the international group before joining the large bank group in 2002. He worked there for eight years and held leadership roles as the central point of contact for three regional banking institutions and senior central point of contact for one of the largest state member banks in the Sixth Federal Reserve District. Wheeler joined the risk management and analysis group in 2010. There, he was responsible for developing and implementing the newly formed credit risk team, which leads initiatives such as the Shared National Credit Program. A Georgia native, Wheeler has a bachelor's degree in banking and finance from the University of Georgia and an MBA from Georgia State University.

Steve Wise is a vice president in the Supervision and Regulation division at the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta, with responsibility for community and regional banking organizations in the Southeast. Wise joined the Federal Reserve System in 1987 as a financial analyst and was promoted to an enforcement examiner in 1989 at the Dallas Fed. He transferred to Atlanta in 1991 as an associate examiner in bank holding company supervision. In 1997, Wise was promoted to senior examiner and manager. In 1998, he became director of one of the domestic safety and soundness examination teams in the division's community banking area. Wise was promoted to assistant vice president in 2006 and vice president in 2010. He earned a bachelor's degree in finance from the University of TexasArlington and is a certified public accountant.
