The Chairman of the Federal Reserve Board, Alan Greenspan, Secretary of the Treasury, Robert E. Rubin, and Treasurer of the United States, Mary Ellen Withrow, will introduce the new 1996 Series Currency on Wednesday, September 27, 1995, at 11 a.m., EDT. The announcement will take place at the U.S. Treasury Department in Washington, D.C.
Following the announcement, other officials from the Treasury, Federal Reserve, Bureau of Engraving and Printing, and U.S. Secret Service will provide a technical briefing for the news media.
MEDIALINK will be providing a satellite transmission to 700 television stations in 200 markets containing sound bites from the Washington press conference, the Bureau of Engraving and Printing B-Roll of printing the new currency, and the Federal Reserve B-Roll of processing and shredding the currency.
MEDIALINK will provide two back-to-back 15-minute satellite transmissions from 3:00-3:15 p.m. and 3:15-3:30 p.m., EDT, on Wednesday, September 27. The feed coordinates will be Telstar 303/Transponder 22 (H).
