At approximately 8:45 p.m. ET last evening, a small plane crashed into the administrative office area of the Miami Branch of the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta. No Federal Reserve staff or visitors to the building were injured. There were approximately 90 people in the building at the time, including staff involved in operations as well as directors and guests who were at the branch for a dinner after the regularly scheduled board meeting. Although the building was temporarily evacuated as a precaution, branch operations were not affected. There was limited damage to the building. After a brief delay, the bank resumed operations last evening and is open with normal operations this morning. Authorities are investigating the accident.
