Jack Guynn, president and chief executive officer of the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta, has announced the promotion of John Branigin to assistant vice president of the systems department, effective July 1.
In his new role, Branigin will have responsibility for the development and support of business applications, as well as overseeing the District's advanced technology group. He will report to Anne DeBeer, senior vice president of automation and accounting.
Branigin began his career at the Atlanta Fed in 1987 as a programmer analyst in the systems department. He was promoted to senior systems analyst in June 1989 and to application development project manager in May 1993.
A native of Cranford, N.J., he holds a bachelor's degree in political science from Davidson College in Davidson, N.C.
The Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta serves the Sixth Federal Reserve District, which encompasses Alabama, Florida, Georgia and parts of Louisiana, Mississippi and Tennessee. As part of the nation's central banking system, the Atlanta Fed takes part in setting national monetary policy, supervises numerous commercial banks and provides a variety of financial services to depository institutions and the U.S. government.
