Jack Guynn, president and chief executive officer of the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta, has announced the promotion of Andre Anderson to vice president in the Birmingham Branch, effective July 1.
In his new position, Anderson will be responsible for operations of the Bank's Birmingham Branch. He will report to James Hawkins, senior vice president -- financial services operations.
Anderson began his career with the Bank as a management intern in the data processing department of the Birmingham Branch in 1984. He held the positions of manager for securities services and administrator for securities services and human resources before becoming an assistant vice president in Birmingham in 1993. He was named assistant branch manager in 1995. As assistant vice president, he was directly responsible for the personnel and payment services department. He has also had responsibilities in data processing, check collection, personnel, automation support and business development operations.
A native of Mobile, Ala., he holds a bachelor's degree in corporate finance from the University of Alabama. He has also completed the Executive Development Program at Cornell University.
The Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta serves the Sixth Federal Reserve District, which encompasses Alabama, Florida, Georgia and parts of Louisiana, Mississippi and Tennessee. As part of the nation's central banking system, the Atlanta Fed takes part in setting national monetary policy, supervises numerous commercial banks and provides a variety of financial services to depository institutions and the U.S. government.
