Robert Morando has been promoted to assistant vice president in the Miami Branch of the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta, announced Jack Guynn, president and chief executive officer of the Atlanta Fed. In his new position, Morando will be responsible for human resources, business development, branch planning and projects, protection, and personal computer support/information security.
Morando joined the bank in 1986 as a management intern. He was promoted to assistant manager of check collection in 1987 and to manager of accounting in 1989. He became director of financial services in 1995. His Fed experience includes cash services, accounting, fiscal services, human resources, Fedline support and payment services.
Morando earned a bachelor's degree in business from the University of Miami. He has also completed the Advanced Management Program at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill.
The Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta serves the Sixth Federal Reserve District, which encompasses Alabama, Florida, Georgia and sections of Louisiana, Mississippi and Tennessee. As part of the nation's central banking system, the Atlanta Fed takes part in setting national monetary policy, supervises numerous commercial banks and provides a variety of financial services to depository institutions and the U.S. government.
