James M. McKee has been promoted to senior vice president and branch manager of the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta, announced Jack Guynn, president and chief executive officer of the Atlanta Fed. Guynn also announced that Robert J. Slack has been promoted to senior vice president and branch manager of the Jacksonville Branch.
McKee is responsible for all of the Atlanta office’s financial services operations including cash, checks and electronic payments. In addition, he is the Sixth Federal Reserve District’s product director for electronic payments, overseeing activities related to automated clearinghouse (ACH), funds transfers, bookentry securities and Fedline delivery systems. He is also responsible for the District’s fiscal services and coordination with the U.S. Treasury Department. McKee joined the Jacksonville Branch of the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta in 1973 and was named assistant vice president in 1984. He was transferred to the New Orleans Branch in 1986 and to the Birmingham Branch in 1987. In 1991 he was named vice president in the Atlanta Branch with responsibility for financial services central. He assumed the additional responsibility of District electronic payments product director in 1994 and assumed the responsibility for all Atlanta financial services as branch manager in 1995.
McKee holds a bachelor of science degree in industrial management from Auburn University and attended the Stonier Graduate School of Banking at Rutgers University. He is also a graduate of the Emerging Executive Program at Pennsylvania State University.
Slack is responsible for financial services operations at the Jacksonville Branch of the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta. Slack joined the Jacksonville Branch in 1968 with responsibility for the Branch’s personnel function. In 1973 he was promoted to administrative assistant. In 1976 he was transferred to the Miami Branch as assistant vice president. He returned to the Jacksonville Branch in 1986, was named assistant vice president and assistant branch manager in 1987, and vice president and branch manager in 1996. Slack holds a bachelor of science degree in business from the University of Kentucky. He also attended the School of Banking of the South at Louisiana State University and the Executive Development Program at the University of Tennessee.
The Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta serves the Sixth Federal Reserve District, which encompasses Alabama, Florida, Georgia and sections of Louisiana, Mississippi and Tennessee. As part of the nation’s central banking system, the Atlanta Fed participates in setting national monetary policy, supervises numerous commercial banks and provides a variety of financial services to depository institutions and the U.S. government.
