Juan C. Sanchez has been named assistant vice president and community affairs officer of the supervision and regulation division of the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta, according to Jack Guynn, president and chief executive officer of the Atlanta Fed.
Sanchez has extensive experience in community affairs, including working for the supervision and regulation department of the Miami Branch of the Atlanta Fed from 1998 to 1999. He has also worked as vice president and community development manager for Barnett Bank and most recently as senior vice president and director of compliance and community development for BankUnited.
Sanchez earned a bachelor of science degree in economics from Florida State University and a master’s degree in business administration from the University of South Florida.
The Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta serves the Sixth Federal Reserve District, which encompasses Alabama, Florida, Georgia and sections of Louisiana, Mississippi and Tennessee. As part of the nation’s central banking system, the Atlanta Fed participates in setting national monetary policy, supervises numerous commercial banks and provides a variety of financial services to depository institutions and the U.S. government.
