Cordia Wilkinson Harrington, president and chief executive officer of Tennessee Bun Co., in Dickson, Tenn., and M. Terry Turner, president and chief executive officer of Pinnacle Financial Partners, in Nashville, have been appointed to the board of directors of the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta's Nashville Branch. Daniel A. Gaudette, senior vice president of North American Manufacturing and Supply Chain Management for Nissan North America Inc., in Smyrna, Tenn., and David Williams, who serves Vanderbilt University as vice chancellor for student life and university affairs, general counsel, secretary and professor of law, have been reappointed to the board of directors of the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta's Nashville Branch. Gaudette, Harrington and Williams' terms began Jan. 1, 2007, and run through Dec. 31, 2009. Turner's term began Sept. 15, 2006, and runs until Dec. 31, 2010.
Harrington's career as an entrepreneur began in 1981 when she opened a real estate firm in Arkansas. In 1989 she purchased the first of three McDonald's franchises in Illinois, and in 1996 she constructed a McDonald's bakery in Tennessee. In 1999, she opened a second bakery in Nashville, started a trucking business, Bun Lady Transport, and in 2005 she acquired Cold Storage of Nashville.
Harrington has been active with the Baptist Hospital and St. Thomas Hospital board of advisers, Nashville Area Chamber of Commerce Board, the Better Business Bureau and the Minnie Pearl Cancer Board. She also serves as a deacon at First Presbyterian Church. She serves on advisory boards with First Bank and Farmers Bank. She is a 1975 graduate of the University of Arkansas.
Turner joined First American National Bank when it acquired Park National Bank in 1985. Turner was president of the Investment Services Group and president of the Retail Bank of First American Corp. before founding Pinnacle Financial Partners. Prior to joining Park National Bank, he was a consultant at Arthur Andersen & Co.
Turner is a member of the board of directors of Pinnacle Financial Partners and a director of the Nashville Sports Council and Gaylord's Music City Bowl. He also serves on the board of trustees for Belmont University. He received a degree in industrial management from the Georgia Institute of Technology in 1976.
Gaudette joined Nissan in 1980 and has served in various positions of increasing responsibility. From 1998 to 1999 he served as vice president of manufacturing and in 1999 became senior vice president, U.S. Manufacturing. Prior to joining Nissan, he worked with Ford Motor Co. as an accountant and with Great Lakes Steel as an industrial engineer.
Gaudette serves as a member of the advisory board for Bank of America. He serves on the board of trustees of Leadership Nashville and is a cabinet member of the governor's Books for Birth Foundation. He received a bachelor's degree in finance from Central Michigan University and an M.B.A. from Eastern Michigan University.
Williams was vice president for student and urban/community affairs and professor of law at Ohio State University, and a tax specialist at Coopers & Lybrand in Detroit before joining Vanderbilt University.
Williams is a member of the American Corporate Counsel Association, the National Association of College and University Attorneys, the American Bar Association and the American Law Institute. Williams serves on the boards of directors of the Nashville Symphony, Second Harvest Food Bank and the Boys & Girls Club. He earned a bachelor's degree from Northern Michigan University, a master's degree in education from Northern Michigan University, an MBA from the University of Detroit, a juris doctorate from the University of Detroit and a master of tax law degree from New York University.
Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta Branch directors provide economic information from their industry and the branch territory to the district Bank's president and head office directors, who use the information in formulating monetary policy and making discount rate recommendations. Gaudette, Harrington and Turner were appointed to the board of directors of the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta's Nashville Branch by the Atlanta head office directors. Williams was appointed by the Federal Reserve Board of Governors. The Board of Governors appoints three of the directors of the Nashville Branch, and the Atlanta head office directors appoint four.
