Tony Love and Melinda Rushing have been promoted to vice presidents, and Nell Campbell-Drake has been promoted to assistant vice president, in the Federal Reserve System's Retail Payments Office (RPO) at the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta, announced Dennis Lockhart, president and chief executive officer of the Atlanta Fed. Lockhart also announced that Stephen Levy, who is on temporary assignment as the Bank's corporate secretary, has been promoted to assistant vice president.
In his new role, Love assumes responsibility for the growth and enhancement of the Reserve Banks' Check 21 services. Previously he served as assistant vice president with responsibility for the Reserve Banks' Check 21 functions and for one of the two national automated clearinghouse (ACH) operations and customer support centers. Love joined the Bank in 1971 and has worked in and managed all operational areas of the Atlanta Branch. He became an assistant vice president in 1988. Prior to joining the RPO, he was responsible for one of the two national ACH operations and customer support centers, the Sixth District's customer support functions, cash services, and administrative functions within the Atlanta Branch.
Rushing assumes responsibility for the financial and planning functions of the Reserve Banks' full range of retail services, including check and ACH services. In 1979, Rushing joined the New Orleans Branch as a management intern. She transferred to the Atlanta office in 1984, and in 1988 she was named an assistant vice president in human resources with responsibility for compensation and benefits. In 1990 she moved to the bank's planning and control area. She assumed responsibility for providing staff support for the Federal Reserve System's financial services management function in 1996 and in 1998 took on responsibility for managing financial and strategic planning for check-related retail payments for the Federal Reserve Banks.
Campbell-Drake assumes responsibility for ACH sales and relationships with customers and payments associations. She joined the bank in 1991 and held various positions of increasing responsibility in the financial services division. Most recently, Campbell-Drake worked on the development and implementation of Federal Reserve electronic access solutions and coordinated the work of the Federal Reserve Automated Clearinghouse (FedACH) operating sites.
Levy is currently on temporary assignment serving as the bank's corporate secretary, working with the Atlanta Fed's head office and branch boards of directors. In this role, he has responsibility for internal communications and meeting support. Levy joined the bank in 1988 in the statistical reports department, where he held positions of increasing responsibility. In 1998 he moved to the check relay department, and in 1999 he moved to the RPO, where he led financial analysis and product and pricing development efforts for the Atlanta check team as well as contributing to long-range strategic planning efforts for the RPO.
The Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta serves the Sixth Federal Reserve District, which encompasses Alabama, Florida, Georgia and sections of Louisiana, Mississippi and Tennessee. As part of the nation's central banking system, the Atlanta Fed participates in setting national monetary policy, supervises numerous commercial banks and provides a variety of financial services to depository institutions and the U.S. government.
