Richard G. Hickson, chairman and chief executive officer of Trustmark Corp., in Jackson, Miss., was reappointed to the Federal Reserve Board of Governors' Federal Advisory Council (FAC). His term began Jan. 1, 2009, and ends Dec. 31, 2009.
Hickson was appointed chairman and chief executive officer of Trustmark in April 2002 after having served as president and chief executive officer of the company from 1997 to 2002. Prior to joining Trustmark, he was president and chief operating officer of SouthTrust Bank of Georgia. He has also held positions at Texas Commerce Bancshares and Citizens & Southern National Bank.
He is a graduate of the University of Georgia. Hickson served as a member of the board of directors for the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta from 2000 to 2005. He is a trustee for Millsaps College, and serves on the board of directors of St. Dominic Health Services, the Mississippi Partnership for Economic Development and Momentum Mississippi.
The FAC is composed of 12 representatives of the banking industry. The FAC meets several times a year to consult with and advise the Board on all matters within the Board's jurisdiction. Each Reserve Bank chooses one FAC member to represent its district, and the members elect their own officers.
