Jeff Thomas has been named assistant vice president of the System Center for Auditor Development (SCAD) at the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta, announced Dennis Lockhart, president and chief executive officer. The promotion is effective this month.
Thomas is currently responsible for supporting the Federal Reserve System's audit community's work, administering System-wide talent development programs and increasing the audit community's knowledge of the Federal Reserve's business environment.
Thomas joined the Federal Reserve in 1988 as a training specialist in human resources. He held a variety of positions with increasing responsibility in corporate relations and automated clearinghouse functions before being promoted to director of SCAD in 1996. He serves on the Federal Reserve System's Learning Management Steering Group, representing the audit business line.
Thomas earned a bachelor's degree in public administration from Auburn University.
The Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta serves the Sixth Federal Reserve District, which encompasses Alabama, Florida, Georgia and sections of Louisiana, Mississippi and Tennessee. As part of the nation's central banking system, the Atlanta Fed participates in setting national monetary policy, supervises numerous commercial banks and provides a variety of financial services to depository institutions and the U.S. government.
