Dr. Noimot Bakare Ayoub is a research economist and assistant adviser on the Macroeconomics and Monetary Policy team in the Research Department at the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta. She studies household finance, consumer finance, and financial inclusion.
Prior to joining the Atlanta Fed in 2021, Dr. Bakare Ayoub was an economist trainee at the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation. She was a visiting scholar at the Opportunity & Inclusive Growth Institute at the Federal Reserve Bank of Minneapolis. During her graduate school career, she worked on various projects at the World Bank and the Global Facility for Disaster Reduction and Recovery, managed by the World Bank. She was also a research assistant at the Center for Urban Progress and a lecturer in the Department of Economics at Howard University.
Dr. Bakare Ayoub received her Ph.D. and master's degree in economics from Howard University and her bachelor's degree in economics from the University of Illinois Chicago.
