Members of the Atlanta Fed’s boards of directors play a critical role in helping to formulate monetary policy, and they act as a link between the Federal Reserve and the community. Head office directors also oversee the general management of the Reserve Bank and its branches. The Sixth District’s 44 board members are business and community leaders representing a broad mix of industries and economic sectors. Ginger Martin is Fort Lauderdale chairperson of United Community Bank. Prior to this role, she served as president and chief executive officer of American National Bank, which was acquired by United Community Bank in May 2025. American National Bank was a locally owned community bank that served South Florida since 1985. In Ms. Martin’s 28 years of leadership, the bank received numerous awards for its strong financial performance and deep community involvement.

Ms. Martin is a member of the board of directors of the Miami Branch of the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta. She is actively engaged in the banking industry, the business community and the local and international non-profit arena.

Ms. Martin is a member of Broward Workshop and the Council of Economic Advisors for the Greater Fort Lauderdale Chamber of Commerce. She is a graduate of Leadership Broward and Lifework Leadership.

She has been recognized for her business leadership, including the Florida Banking Association Lifetime Achievement Award. South Florida Business Journal has named her a Top 250 Power Leaders for numerous years, and an Ultimate CEO.

Ms. Martin earned her MBA from Florida Atlantic University. She graduated magna cum laude from the University of Louisiana Monroe with a BBA in accounting. She is also a certified public accountant.
