Biography
Jacob Walker is a senior research analyst on the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta's Community and Economic Development (CED) team. In this role he contributes to various CED research projects and to the Bank's Advancing Careers Initiative, which is focused on researching benefits cliffs and examining solutions to mitigate or eliminate their effects. Prior to joining the Atlanta Fed in 2024, he served as a research associate at the Richmond Fed on the Regional and Community Analysis team. In that role, he contributed to research, analysis, and outreach for the Bank's regional business surveys, the CFO Survey and the Bank's Community College Initiative, which is focused on researching community colleges and better understanding their unique role in local workforce development. Before starting his career in the Federal Reserve System, he worked in the energy industry as a forecasting analyst where he helped develop and maintain short-term energy demand and price forecasts. He earned an associate's degree in social science from Reynolds Community College and a bachelor's degree in economics from Virginia Commonwealth University.
