Sergio Galeano is an adviser in the Community and Economic Development group and contributes to the Center for Workforce and Economic Opportunity. He is engaged in research, communication, and partnerships throughout the workforce development ecosystem to expand economic mobility and strengthen the economy.

Sergio has a decade of experience in public policy and economic development with government, think tank, and multilateral organizations, applying rigorous policy and evidence-backed research with a focus on strategies that support career advancement. Through his current and prior roles, he has conducted research and engagement on career pathways, workforce funding, earn-and-learn models, and the future of work.

Born and raised in New York City, he started his career in the Office of the New York City Comptroller. He earned his bachelor's degree in economics and political science from the City College of New York and his master’s degree from Columbia University's School of International and Public Affairs.
