Biography
Jessica Washington is an assistant vice president in the Research Department at the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta, where she oversees economic studies to foster an accessible, efficient, safe, and stable financial system. Jessica strategically leads a team of experts through data-driven inquiry and industry collaboration to produce policy-relevant insights. Among the resources made available to the public, Jessica is responsible for the Federal Reserve Payments Study, the Survey and Diary of Consumer Payment Choice, and other original payments research covering critical topics related to financial services.
Jessica also serves as a sought-after subject matter expert, regularly speaking and engaging with the industry. She currently serves on the Federal Reserve System’s Payments Researchers Steering Committee and the ePay Resources Board of Directors. Jessica started her career in payments with the Georgia Automated Clearing House Association, now PaymentsFirst, where she grew to serve as senior vice president and an industry thought leader.
A native of Massachusetts, she earned her bachelor's degree in English from Florida State University, where she recently served on the Alumni Association Board of Directors. She attended Harvard Business School, Leadership for Senior Executives and earned a Lean Six Sigma Green Belt Certification, Prosci Change Management Certification and the Accredited ACH Professional Certification.
