Biography
Andrés Hincapié is a research economist and assistant policy adviser on the applied microeconomics team of the Research Department at the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta.
Prior to joining the Atlanta Fed, Dr. Hincapié was an assistant professor of economics at the University of North Carolina. He has published research in several peer-reviewed journals, including the International Economic Review, the Review of Economics Dynamics, and the Journal of Human Capital.
Dr. Hincapié is originally from Colombia. He earned his doctorate in economics from Washington University in St. Louis, a master's degree in economics from El Colegio de México in Mexico City, and a bachelor's degree in industrial engineering from Universidad Tecnológica de Pereira (Colombia). He was also a Fox International Fellow at the MacMillan Center at Yale University.
