Procurement
The Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta—the Atlanta Fed—is part of the Federal Reserve System, the US central bank. The Federal Reserve conducts national monetary policy, supervises and regulates banking institutions, and helps operate and maintain the stability of the nation's payments system.
With headquarters in Atlanta and branches in five other cities, the Atlanta Fed serves six states in the Southeast: Alabama, Florida, Georgia, and parts of Louisiana, Mississippi, and Tennessee.
Atlanta Fed procurement services
As a large business more than 1,700 employees in its six offices, the Atlanta Fed must provide its workers with the diverse tools they need to do their jobs. As a public policy institution, the Atlanta Fed must demand goods and services that meet high standards for quality and reliability.
The Procurement unit in the Financial Management and Planning Department in the Atlanta office currently does business with more than 1,000 vendors both locally and nationally. The vendors provide a wide array of goods and services for the region. Our purchases include but are not limited to:
- Consulting and training services
- General construction services
- Building maintenance services/supplies
- Mechanical equipment/maintenance (HVAC, pumps, cooling towers, etc.)
- IT services/suppliers
- Audio-visual services
- Janitorial services
The Atlanta Fed uses competitive procedures, which include requests for quotations and requests for proposals, to acquire the goods and services needed from qualified suppliers. The Bank awards contracts to those suppliers that best meet its needs in terms of price, quality, availability, and service.
The Atlanta Fed does not participate in contracts executed by the General Services Administration and is not permitted to purchase goods or services from federal supply schedules.
Acquisition guidelines
All acquisitions in the Atlanta Fed's district are processed according to guidelines established by the Federal Reserve System. Acquisitions for goods and services valued between $100,000 and $249,999 require a competitive quotation or proposal. Acquisitions valued at more than $250,000 require a formal quotation or requests for proposal process.
The bidding process
The Atlanta Fed conducts its bid events primarily through SAP Ariba. To be successful, a bidder must be responsive to the requirements of the bid, responsible in its capacity to complete those requirements, and capable of providing the best overall solution to the Atlanta Fed. The Atlanta Fed may select bidders other than the lowest-cost solution. The Atlanta Fed provides equal opportunities in its procurement activities to all organizations based on qualifications and merit.
How to become a supplier for the Federal Reserve System
If your company is interested in becoming a potential supplier for a Federal Reserve Bank, you are invited to enroll through our Supplier Engagement Portal Ariba External Supplier Request.
Completion of the enrollment process alone does not guarantee an invitation to participate in competitive bidding opportunities. It also does not establish or imply the existence of any procurement relationship with the Federal Reserve Banks, either now or in the future. Individual Reserve Banks may require separate registration and due diligence reviews before doing business with any potential supplier.
