Yareny Valdés is Vice President of Operations in the Supervision and Regulation Division of the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta, Miami Branch. She has been with the Fed since 1999. Yareny has oversight for all operational areas related to bank supervision. Prior to her current role, she had responsibility for a portfolio of both domestic and international examinations. She has held various positions within the Fed and her areas of expertise include audit, information technology (IT), and Bank Secrecy Act (BSA). Yareny has also served as an instructor for the Federal Reserve System schools and Foreign Technical Assistance. She has worked in the banking industry for over 30 years. Previously she served as a Chief Internal Auditor for an international bank in Miami. During her tenure as Chief Auditor, she also served as a member of various Audit and IT Steering Committees. She started her career with the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) as a bank examiner of domestic institutions. Yareny is a Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist. She holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance and Management Information Systems from Florida International University.
