Nancy Teeters

- I was born in Marion, Indiana, in 1930. I earned my master's degree in economics from the University of Michigan.
- In 1978, I became the first woman to serve on the Fed's Board of Governors.
- I was a staff economist in the Federal Reserve System's Division of Research and Statistics at the Board of Governors from 1957 to 1966. In 1962–63, I took a temporary leave to serve on the Council of Economic Advisers.
- I was the director of economics for IBM and was the second woman to become a vice president for the company.
