This conference will bring together academics, practitoners, and policymakers to discuss systemic risk arising from the interactions of modern financial institutions and financial markets. The conference will feature four sessions covering models of financial system risk, models of strategic liquidity provision, the role of certain types of financial institutions in financial system risk, and the potential role of financial innovation and mark-to-market accounting in contributing to financial instability. The conference will include discussions with seasoned practitioners such as Roy Henrikkson and speeches by Emil Henry, the Treasury Assistant Secretary for Financial Institutions, and Nigel Jenkinson, the Director of Financial Stability at the Bank of England. Federal Reserve Board Vice Chairman Roger Ferguson is the keynote speaker for the conference, and Kevin Warsh and Randall Kroszner, members of the Board of Governors, will chair sessions.
