The Economy
Changes in global markets and turbulence in the domestic economy are influencing the investment products, services, and business strategies that financial organizations are using to deliver wealth management services. Investment managers will be challenged to effectively manage volatility risk in investor portfolios in light of the current market turmoil and uncertain U.S. tax policy. Private Banking and the Family Office
The growth in worldwide wealth is creating a more open marketplace for domestic and foreign investors and wealth management providers, increasing the need for customer due diligence in private banking, trust, and multigenerational wealth management. The lines between the traditional "private banking" and "family office" lines of business are becoming increasingly blurred as both international and domestic wealth managers are offering a larger and more complex suite of products and services to their sophisticated and highly affluent clientele.
Our speakers will discuss recent trends and the changing competitive landscape in the industry including the new business opportunities that future demographic changes present, the expertise required, and the key risks and challenges to these business models. Additionally, they will discuss the challenges of the current regulatory environment, including compliance with Privacy, Bank Secrecy Act and Anti–Money Laundering principles.
