The Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta and the International Monetary Fund are sponsoring the fourth Workshop on China's Economy, which will be held in Atlanta on September 19–20, 2019.

As the world's second-largest economy, China exerts a rising influence on the growth and stability of the global economy. This workshop will bring together experts from around the world to discuss a number of important issues facing China. The workshop welcomes new and interesting research on all aspects of the Chinese economy, including but not limited to

  • Financial stability and systemic risk
  • Monetary policy and banking system
  • Fiscal policy
  • International trade
  • Industrial policy and misallocations
  • Capital account liberalization
  • Internationalization of the renminbi
  • Growth
  • Inequality

Keynote Speaker
Gian Maria Milesi-Ferretti, assistant director of research at the International Monetary Fund, is the workshop's keynote speaker.
