The community development staff from the Federal Reserve Board of Governors and the Federal Reserve Banks of Atlanta, Boston, Cleveland, and Philadelphia will host a conference February 1–4 to examine inequities in labor market outcomes and explore implications of disparities on aggregate economic performance.

The conference, Uneven Outcomes in the Labor Market: Understanding Trends and Identifying Solutions, will take place virtually across the four days beginning each day at 2 p.m. (ET). The conference will convene a diverse network of researchers, policymakers, and practitioners who will identify new directions for policy and research.

The four sessions will focus on:

  • State of Labor Market Outcomes with remarks by Raphael Bostic, president and CEO of the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta, and Eric Rosengren, president and CEO of the Federal Reserve Bank of Boston;
  • Future of Work and Alternative Work Arrangements with introductory remarks by Loretta Mester, president and CEO of the Federal Reserve Bank of Cleveland;
  • Education and Credentials with introductory remarks by Patrick Harker, president and CEO of the Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia; and
  • Career Pathways with introductory remarks by Mary Daly, president and CEO of the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco.

The conference will highlight research that examines disparities in employment, labor force participation, income, and wealth across demographic groups. The full agenda and registration are available here. (Note: Each session has separate registration.)
