Dr. Thomas Zacharia, president and chief executive officer of UT-Battelle LLC and director of Oak Ridge National Laboratory, Leif M. Murphy, chief executive officer of TeamHealth Holdings Inc., and Amber Krupacs, chief financial officer of Clayton Homes, have been appointed and Beth R. Chase, senior managing director of Ankura Consulting Group LLC, has been reappointed to the board of directors of the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta's Nashville Branch. Zacharia, Murphy, and Chase's terms began January 1, 2019, and run through December 31, 2021. Krupacs is filling an unexpired term that began January 1, 2019, and runs through December 31, 2019.

Zacharia has served as president and chief executive officer of UT-Battelle LLC and director of Oak Ridge National Laboratory since 2017. From 2015 to 2017, he served as deputy for science and technology at Oak Ridge National Laboratory. Prior to that, Zacharia was chairman of Qatar Science and Technology Park from 2013 to 2015 and executive vice president of research and development for the Qatar Foundation from 2012 to 2015. He was deputy for science and technology at Oak Ridge National Laboratory from 2009 to 2012, founding director of the National Institute for Computational Sciences at the University of Tennessee from 2008 to 2012, vice president of science and technology at the University of Tennessee from 2007 to 2009, and a part-time professor at Georgia Institute of Technology from 2005 to 2009. From 1989 to 2009, he held research and executive positions of increasing responsibility at Oak Ridge National Laboratory.

Zacharia earned his doctorate from Clarkson University in 1987, his master's degree from the University of Mississippi in 1984, and his bachelor's degree from the National Institute of Technology Karnataka in 1980.

Zacharia was named a fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science in 2015 and the American Welding Society in 2005. He is a member of the International Academy of Astronautics.

Murphy has served as president and chief executive officer of TeamHealth Holdings since 2016. Prior to that, he was LifePoint Health Inc.'s chief financial officer from 2013 to 2016 and its executive vice president and chief development officer from 2011 to 2013. From 2008 to 2011, he was president and chief executive officer of DSI Renal Inc. and from 2006 to 2008 was senior vice president and treasurer for CVS Caremark Inc. He also served in various executive roles at Renal Care Group.

Murphy earned a bachelor's degree from Furman University in 1990 and an MBA from the College of William and Mary in 1994. Murphy is a member of the board of directors of TeamHealth Holdings Inc.

Krupacs has served as chief financial officer of Clayton Homes Inc. since 2016. From 2001 to 2016 she was chief financial officer of Vanderbilt Mortgage and Finance Inc., and from 1993 to 2001 she was vice president of finance and corporate secretary and tax director for Clayton Homes Inc. From 1987 to 1993, she was a tax manager at Coopers and Lybrand.

Krupacs earned a bachelor's degree from Drexel University in 1987. She is a member of the board of directors of Covenant Health Systems and the advisory board for First Tennessee Bank.

Chase has served as senior managing director of Ankura Consulting Group LLC since April 2018. She previously served as founder and chief executive officer of the management consulting firm c3/consulting since 2005. She cofounded and led a Nashville-based technology consulting firm from 1997 to 2005 and served in various positions with increasing responsibility at IBM Corporation from 1985 to 1997.

Chase is a member of the boards of directors of the Nashville Chamber of Commerce, the Nashville Entrepreneur Center, and the Nashville Healthcare Council. She is a former director of the YWCA of Nashville and Middle Tennessee and the Nashville Technology Council. She also serves on the board of directors for Ingram Industries, a privately held business in Middle Tennessee.

Chase received her bachelor's degree from Vanderbilt University and earned a spot on the Inc. 5000 list of fastest-growing privately held companies in 2011, 2012, 2014, 2015, and 2016. She received the 2013 NEXT Entrepreneur of the Year Award, the 2011 NEXT Women Entrepreneur of the Year Award, the 2011 Nashville Technology Council Lifetime Achievement Award, 2008, 2009, 2012 and 2013 Nashville Business Journal Best in Business Finalist (c3), 2008 and 2009 Nashville Chamber of Commerce Future 50 Company (c3) Award and 2007 Nashville Business Journal Women of Influence Entrepreneur Award. She was a member of the Class of 2012 of Leadership Nashville and was program chair in 2013.

Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta branch directors provide economic information from their industries and the branch territory to the district bank's president and head office directors, who use the information in discussing monetary policy options and making discount rate recommendations. Chase was reappointed and Murphy appointed by the Atlanta Fed's board of directors. Krupacs was appointed to fill an unexpired term by the Atlanta Fed's board of directors. Zacharia was appointed by the Federal Reserve Board of Governors in Washington DC. The Board of Governors appoints three of the Nashville Branch directors, and the Atlanta head office directors appoint four.
