The Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta announces that Victor Ortiz has been appointed vice president and program officer based in Miami, in a new role established to provide leadership and professional project management expertise in construction.
Ortiz, who is new to the Federal Reserve, has more than 20 years of experience in construction and project management, most recently serving as senior transportation program manager for AECOM, a multinational infrastructure consulting firm. He is a board-certified civil engineer in the state of Florida and a licensed professional engineer.
Prior to his time at AECOM, Ortiz served as vice president of construction inspection services for the Corradino Group and CSA Group, where he led teams of engineering professionals and technicians who managed and inspected roadway and bridge projects in the Miami area. He also has extensive experience managing projects for the Florida Department of Transportation.
Ortiz earned a bachelor's degree in civil engineering from Santa Maria University in Venezuela and a master's degree in business administration with a concentration in finance from Nova Southeastern University in Florida. He has served as an adjunct professor in the Moss Department of Construction Management at Florida International University.
The Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta serves the Sixth Federal Reserve District, which encompasses Alabama, Florida, Georgia, and sections of Louisiana, Mississippi, and Tennessee. As part of the nation's central banking system, the Atlanta Fed participates in setting national monetary policy, supervises numerous commercial banks, and provides a variety of financial services to depository institutions and the U.S. government.
